Ron Davis tops Master Point list; Club Champions announced

Ron Davis has won the Sunday Telegraph Salver, for the most Master Points earned in the calendar year. Ron earned 31,225 points in 2020. Tracy Capal was second with 24.331 and Robert Plumley was third with 20,170. Mike Bell topped the Gold Point list with a total of 59.59. Michael Byrne was second with 54.25. Last year's winner John Holland was third with 54.21.

For the third year in a row, the highest scoring Junior was Ben Norton with a total of 9,334 points. In second place was Henry Rose with 9,174 and Jamie Fegarty was third with 8,630.

In the All Time Leaderboard, Derek Oram remains top with 881,241, John Holland is second with 868,946 and John Durden third with 844,176.

The winners of the Club Champions prize draw have also been selected. Club Champions are those who won the most Master Points in events held at each club, and each Club Champion is entered in to the draw. Beverley Thomson of Phyllis Court Bridge Club was first out of the hat and wins £400. Marion Beecher of Westbury Bridge Club was drawn in second and wins £200, and David Beever of Burnham Bridge Club wins £100 for being drawn third.

The top scoring players in each county in Master Point categories 4 to 6, and the top scoring players nationally in categories 1 to 3, also receive small prizes. The Master Point leaderboards for 2020 can be accessed below - all lists can be filtered by county using the options in the menu at the top of the page.
