The Scarborough Summer Congress has taken place over the last 4 days.
The event started with Category Pairs on Thursday. In a close finish the overall winners for the Jim Proctor Trophy were Daniel Baines & Robert Miller (picture) with a score of 60.10%. In second place with 59.41% were Richard Creamer & Konrad Mau, who also won the Patrick Jourdain Trophy for best Senior pair. In third place were Alan Patel & Mariam Gilbert who scored 58.38%, and were the best Mixed pair. The best Mens pair were Paul Belsten & Stuart Davies with a score of 57.72 and the best Women's pair were Ewa Hardwick & Clare Batten.
Friday was multiple teams and the winners in the A final were Jeremy Willans, Jill Skinner, Neil Rosen & Anne Rosen (pictured) with a score of +57 IMPs in the final. In second place were the team of Daniel Baines, Robert Miller, Chris Wormleighton & David Smith with +43 IMPs. In the B final the winners were Athena Chow, Tom Copeland, Alan Hayward & Joyd Mittra who scored +49 IMPs and in second place were James Thrower, Croz Croswell, Daniel McIntosh & Claire Robinson with +44 IMPs. The consolation teams final was won by Anne Catchpole, Phil Mattacks, Chris Taylor & Joyce Taylor.
Over the weekend was the Stratified Swiss Pairs. The winners by a margin of 2 VPs were Daniel McIntosh & Claire Robinson (picture) with a score of 164 VPs from their 12 matches. In second place were Diana Nettleton & Simon Cope with 162 VPs and in third were James Thrower & Croz Croswell who scored 158 VPs. The B Stratification winners were Anne Wright & Steve Wright and the C Stratification winners were Ken Broadbent & Marilyn Blake.
