Sheffield BC (Yorkshire) has won the Garden Cities Trophy, the competition for each county's 'teams-of-eight champions'.
The final featured the eight teams which qualified from the Regional Finals which took place in April, and Sheffield finished in first place with 85 VPs. Tunbridge Wells BC (Kent) was second with 83 VPs, and in third was The Avenue BC (Sussex) with 79 VPs. This is Sheffield's third time winning the competition, with their last win in 1994.
The winning Sheffield team was Dave Robinson, Tony Sowter, Richard Pike, David Waxman, Sandy Davies, Bazil Caygill, Arthur Hughes and Dave Banks.
