Team Byrne wins the Hubert Phillips Bowl for the second year running.
In the final of the English Mixed Teams of 4 Championship, Michael Byrne's team (Fiona Brown, Stefano Tommasini, Kieran Dyke, Sebastien Atisen, (pictured) with Ben Green in earlier rounds) beat the team of Mike Bell, Sarah Bell, Ben Norton and Tim Leslie by 5170 aggregate points (equivalent to about 120 imps).
The match was played in good spirit at TGRs bridge club in Paddington on Friday August 15th. This was a second win for Fiona, Kieran and Ben, a first for Stefano and Sebastien, and a third win for Michael Byrne.
Four members of the winning team will represent England in the upcoming world championships being held in Herning, Denmark, where they will be joined by three members of the runners-up team.
