U16, U21 and U31 teams win at the Euro 2026 Online Championships

Congratulations to the Under 16, Under 21 and Under 31 teams on their success winning Gold medals at the Euro 2026 Online Youth Team Championships and to the Under 26s who won the Bronze.

The Under21 team (Alex Andrews, Venetia Anoyrkatis, Charlotte Bedford, Aleks Birdsall, Holden Clark, Thibault Crosnier, Tom Furness, Angus Marshall, Lucy Norman, David Sargent NPC: Stephen Kennedy) (pictured) won the semi finals against Israel (by 2 imps) and then beat Poland in the final by 15 imps. David, Thibault and Alex played all 56 boards of the finals (Due to scheduling of the Portland Bowl, other team members were unavailable). Holden played with Alex in the first 28 boards and Tom played with Alex in the second lot of 28.

The Under31 team (Sam Anoyrkatis, Jonathan Clark, Joseph Clark, Aaron Hutton, Nicholas Lee, Kripa Panchagnula, Oliver Powell, Jack Ronayne, Eshan Singhal, PC: Kripa Panchagnula) (picture) also finished first, beating Bulgaria by 107 imps with 14 boards to spare. 

The U16 team (Aleks Blicharz, Jacob Davie, Ethan Kay, Wilf Marshall, Bertie Mittra, Sophie Morris, Louis Schroell-Tite, Seb Sinclair NPC: Alan Shillitoe) (picture) was initially awarded second place, following a tie-break with Poland in the finals. However, the European Bridge League (EBL) has now confirmed that both teams will be awarded Gold Medals.

The Under 26 team (Dido Coley, Andy Cope, Jamie Fegarty, Liam Fegarty, Lily Kearney, Oscar Selby, NCP: Michael Byrne) made it to the semi-finals, losing to Israel by just 7 imps.
