Bethany Madden is 22 years old from Derby and is currently studying MA Global Governance and Diplomacy at the University of Leeds. Bethany started playing bridge around the age of 12 when their dad enrolled them and their brother (Harry Madden) into lessons at Spondon Bridge Club. Their team won the Harry Scully Trophy in 2014 and 2015 as part of the Youth Bridge Challenge. After a few years of playing irregularly, Bethany started playing more consistently during lockdown, with their now regular partner, Megan Jones, thanks to many of the online tournaments run by the EBU. They made their first international appearance for the U26W at the 2022 Channel Trophy in Belgium where they finished 3rd.
