Ewa was born in Warsaw, Poland. Her father taught her bridge when she was 13. In 2008, when she was a member of the Polish ladies team, she met Tom Townsend. Ewa was very impressed by his play, and they now have a wonderful 6-year-old boy called Max. They live in Shepherd's Bush, West London, near the new Young Chelsea BC.
