Jane Moore was born in London in 1951 but moved eight years later to the Suffolk/NE Essex borders where she has lived ever since. She first started playing bridge aged about 25 having been dragged along to the Young Chelsea to play a game she had never played before which was apparently “just like whist”. Having finished bottom for three consecutive weeks it seemed that lessons in this game would be in order. She was quickly bitten by the bug and, like Gillian, was lucky enough to play often with some of the best players around at the time.
Jane has represented England three times in the Lady Milne with Chris Duckworth and has also played representative bridge in various friendly internationals against other countries (France, Netherlands, Ireland) so far always on the winning side which she hopes to repeat this year! Jane has won the National Women's Pairs three times and the National Women's Teams twice also in partnership with Chris Duckworth. Beginners luck has been kind to Jane as she was lucky enough to win the Women’s Trials at her first attempt playing with Chris Duckworth and again many years later playing for the first time with Gillian.
Jane has a bridge school with David Price (who has fairly recently moved to NE Essex) running various levels of courses, supervised practice and weekend breaks. She is married to Andrew and has two sons, two stepsons (all in their thirties) and two very handsome golden retrievers.
