Jeff received the Dimmie Fleming Award in 2024, recognising a long and valuable contribution to county bridge, below is the citation for his award from Lancashire:

Jeff has been involved with bridge administration in Lancashire & Manchester for the best part of 30 years and has given unstintingly of his time to help the counties, their clubs and their members. His contributions are too numerous to detail fully, but particular highlights are: • Tournament, Selection (chairman), Congress, Laws & Conduct and new Constitution committee for many years in Manchester • Secretary for Manchester CBA 5 years • Chairman Manchester 3 years • Manchester Shareholder for years • Joined Lancashire in 2004 • Chairman 2010-2013 • On Selection committee since 2010 • On Tournament Committee since 2008 • County Qualified TD • Tournament Director for numerous competitions in Manchester/Lancashire area since 1996 • Arrangement and management of County matches • Secretary of the Northern Bridge League (NBL) committee since inception in 2020 and now Chairman of NBL • Lancashire Shareholder for many years • Currently Chief Tournament Director at Bolton BC.

Presented to Jeff for his contribution of his bridge program which has been available without cost to clubs all over the world, is the basis of EBUScore and also is the basis for all of the EBU scoring programs in its own tournaments over many years.

Jeff was on the EBU Laws & Ethics Committee from 2002-2003, is a qualified County TD and a Premier Grand Master.
