Dimmie Fleming Award citation - 2019 (nomination from Merseyside & Cheshire)
Liz has been a member of the County Executive for more than 25 years. She has served as Vice-Chair and as Chair. Since then, she has been the Chair of our Tournament committee and has organised and run many of our County events herself. If today, the county financial reserves are healthy, this is mainly due to the profits made from the events she organised at a time when they were more popular than they are, alas, today.
Finally, she was also the membership secretary until it was decided, two years ago, that this role was more naturally attached to the county Secretary. In the days when the county produced a county events brochure and physically posted it to each of our members, Liz and her husband David always organised the printing of the brochure and the address labels for distribution.
Liz stood down as Chair of the Tournament committee and Executive committee member at the last Annual General Meeting in July, so M&CBA think that the time is ripe to acknowledge her long service to bridge in their county.
