Richard is retired from a career in the computer industry and having taught mathematics in a sixth-form college. Although Richard lives in an Oxfordshire village under the Uffington White Horse, he has been a regular representing Cheltenham & Gloucestershire for over 40 years. This has included victories in the Tollemache, Pachabo, and Garden Cities. Outside of bridge, Richard is a regular golfer whose handicap is now rising (alarmingly) steeply. He is also a keen hillwalker having nearly completed the Munros of Scotland and has a particular fondness for the mountains of Norway. Richard compiles numerical and word crosswords under the pseudonym “Hedgehog” and in the summer can be found umpiring in the Cherwell Cricket League.
