I am a chartered accountant (ANZ) with over 25 years of senior finance leadership experience across sectors including defence and aerospace, renewable energy, education and charity. When the opportunity arose at the EBU, it felt like a natural fit: it combined my enjoyment of bridge with the chance to help the organisation become more sustainable.
I was born in Australia after my parents moved there from the UK as “Ten Pound Poms” in the early 1960s. I moved to the UK in my late 20s and met my lovely wife, Emma, shortly afterwards. We are very proud of our four children: Phoebe, Will, Olivia and Sam. Phoebe has recently moved to Indonesia, while the other three are at various stages of university life.
I started playing social bridge with good friends just before Covid, and it became a real lifeline each week when other social events were limited. I have very much enjoyed the game ever since. Having now joined the EBU, it’s clear there are lots of different bridge opportunities out there, and I am looking forward to seeing where that leads.
