Julia Hailes has been organising cafe bridge events in Bridport. This is her second year of planning these fantastic events, with the help of Sara Villers and Victor Lesk. Here she talks about their upcoming event in November:

We're delighted to announce the second Café Bridge event in the charming market town of Bridport, close to the Jurassic Coast.

Last year's event was a tremendous success, with 116 enthusiastic players. The joyful photos on our Cafe Bridge in Bridport website (some pictured above) capture the wonderful atmosphere. This year, we're expecting even more participants, so please register promptly - we are likely to reach capacity. We've also enlisted more cafes, restaurants, and pubs to join us, offering a delightful variety of venues, all within walking distance of each other.

This pairs tournament welcomes players of all levels, provided you're comfortable with duplicate bridge. We've especially encouraged those new to bridge to join in, with an emphasis on fun rather than serious competition. However, there's also room for more competitive players, as long as they don't mind a bit of friendly amateur spirit!

The tournament is organised by Julia Hailes and Sara Villers, with the expert directing of Café Bridge supremo, Victor Lesk. Proceeds will be donated to two local charities: the Prout Bridge Project and West Dorset Wilding.

We look forward to seeing you there.
