Huddersfield Bridge Club, which was established in 1936, has moved to new premises, pictured above. The club is now located in Merton Street, Springwood, opposite Huddersfield Leisure Centre and just a short distance across the ring road from Huddersfield Bus Station. The club was previously in two large Victorian houses on Cambridge Road (pictured below). Though well-loved by members for about 50 years, it was clear that better access was essential, and the new building is fully accessible for people with limited mobility as well as being close to public transport and car parking.

Bridge is a social, enjoyable, competitive and affordable game. It provides an opportunity to make new friends in a welcoming and friendly environment. Huddersfield Bridge Club holds sessions in the daytime and evening with a typical session taking two to three hours. It also takes part in the Yorkshire League with five teams representing the club in the most recent season.

The club has almost 200 members and is keen to welcome new players from all sections of the community.

Chair, Michael Robertson says “The Club had to move, and we are delighted to have found a new central home which has been adapted and renovated to a high standard meeting the needs of members now and in the future. Everyone is welcome at our very friendly club.”

For those new to playing Bridge beginners lessons are held regularly with lessons for improvers also taking place throughout the year. For further information see the club website at www.huddersfieldbridgeclub.co.uk or email huddsbc@gmail.com
