Northallerton Bridge Club Open Day, two ladies from the club have set up a table of cakes and donation boxes in preparation for the day

Northallerton Bridge Club held an Open Day as part of the national "Bridge - It's a Big Deal!" initiative on Wednesday 4th September. Over 300 events have been held across England this week to promote Bridge and raise money for Cancer Research UK. Steve Wilson, Secretary of Northallerton Bridge Club shares the details from the day below:

We played demonstration Chicago Bridge, had a table for newcomers to the game to try out MiniBridge, held a cake stall and a tombola.

The event was a resounding success and proved to be an excellent promotion for our Club, Bridge in general and as a fundraiser for Cancer Research UK.

Over 35 Members attended and we had over 80 Visitors, of whom 15 expressed some interest in playing Bridge with us, or attending our Beginner's Classes this Autumn.

So far, the Club has raised over £500 for Cancer Research UK, a great return for a small Club such as ours.

Very many thanks to everyone who helped out, both on the day and in preparation.

The Club received positive feedback from all our Visitors, several of whom played MiniBridge for the first time.

Anyone interested in joining the Club, or attending the Beginner’s Classes should contact Steve Wilson, Club Secretary by email to nbc.scoring@outlook.com or on 07889 194936.
