Bookham Afternoon Bridge Club awarded Ulla Adilz an honorary life membership on November 27th, to celebrate her 100th birthday and many years of playing at the club. Pictured above, on the left, Adrian Filkins of Bookham Afternoon Bridge Club presents Ulla with her award, and on the right Ulla playing bridge in 1949.
As well as a keen member of Bookham Afternoon Bridge Club Ulla has also played twice a day in the EBU BBO relaxed game since it started.
A keen bridge player all her life, Ulla still plays at a remarkably high level. She has been mentioned in The Daily Telegraph several times in recent years for having the highest score of the week in the EBU morning relaxed games competitions and is a past winner, with Joyce Munn, of the Surrey Ladies Trophy.
She is also a proud recipient of 100th birthday greeting cards from both King Charles and Queen Camilla, as well as from King Carl Gustav and Queen Silvia of Sweden.
