Horsham Bridge Club has celebrated the 100th birthday of one of its regular members. Yvonne Cooper was presented with flowers, cake, presents and cards at the club’s recent Wednesday session. Over seventy of her fellow players and her family all joined in to wish her well and congratulate her. Yvonne learned to play at the club in the seventies. She still scores well in the running “Wednesday Cup”, and came third in last year’s “Sargeant Cup”. In the above picture, Yvonne (centre) celebrates with a few of her bridge friends and family. Yvonne said: “This is all very lovely. I can’t believe I’m a hundred! Thank you to everyone – I hope you all get to my age”.
Organiser Jo Waddingham added: “Yvonne has been a popular regular for many years, and has reached quite a milestone among our members. We all wish her much happiness on this unique occasion.”
