EBU: Duplicate Bridge Survey

Dear County Chairs and Secretaries,

In recent years, Duplicate Bridge has been fighting against a large variety of other options for people’s attention, and the need to adapt has been visible in reduced attendance at some events. More recently, the pandemic and consequent move to on-line bridge has created a fundamental shift to the way in which our game is played. Furthermore, players’ behaviours and preferences will be different as we come out of lockdown. So we have a need and a unique opportunity for the EBU, Counties and Bridge Clubs all to refresh their approach to recruiting new players and to organising games for established players.

Many of us, individually, have been thinking and even experimenting with changes – and the EBU would like to move that forward by helping us all to share the good (and any bad) ideas and experiences we have had in recent times. We intend to do this by consulting with the counties in an informal process and from that to collate ideas that will help inform how the counties, clubs and EBU could work together in the future. To this end, we would appreciate it if you could complete the questionnaire.

Please note that this is an informal consultation and we are interested in your personal view as an experienced, bridge-playing officer rather than the collective view of your county.

SURVEY for COUNTY CHAIRS/SECRETARIES

The survey will only take a few minutes and we would really appreciate it if you could find time to complete it by Monday, 17th May 2021.

Thank you
