Dear Club and County Chairs, Main Contacts, Treasurers, Secretaries and Shareholders
BBO have for a while been saying that they will start charging for teams games for which payment has been made to any other organisation.
They have now told us that, with effect from today, 10th August, clubs and counties that charge for teams games will be liable for $5 per team for one or two sessions, $10 per team for three or more sessions. Below are the instructions they have given us for if you want your players to pay you a fee in BB$. If you are charging offline, you should inform us so that BBO can collect the money at the end of the month.
Note that casual teams games, where no money changes hands, continue to be free.
We just tweaked the BB$ transfer page to allow players to transfer BB$ to anyone who has permission to make unlimited transfers.
So from now on players can pay their team match entry fees in BB$, by transferring it to the vEBU username that organizes the event.
Here's the link to the BB$ transfer page: https://www.bridgebase.com/mp/cust/gift.php
Accounting will include these earnings in the monthly invoices, along with entry fees from tournaments, and transfer the balance out to the EBU.
Yours sincerely,
Gordon Rainsford
