EBU Counties & Clubs Online Bridge Discussion
20th October 2020

Dear County Representatives

With the return of much face to face bridge looking like it is still some distance off, the EBU would like to try and help more clubs to start playing online. With this in mind the EBU are organising a meeting for clubs and counties on Tuesday 20th October at 11:00 on Zoom.

We would like to encourage counties to assist clubs in their county to set up Virtual Clubs by training TDs to run their games and to encourage smaller clubs to consider running games jointly.

During the meeting information will be shared about different options for playing online bridge and clubs will have the opportunity to ask questions so we can hopefully address any concerns they may have. We will also have some clubs who are already playing online bridge share their experiences.

Although we have a large number of clubs playing on BBO’s Virtual Clubs, we would also welcome anyone who can share information about running club games on BCL, Stepbridge, RealBridge or any other platforms.

We will be contacting all clubs who are not currently playing online but would really appreciate the help of the counties to encourage clubs in their areas to attend the meeting and perhaps to suggest clubs that might usefully run games together.

The meeting details are provided below:
