EBU Event Focus
Issue 98

Dear EBU Member

The coming weeks and months are always full of events for all standards of players, and this year even with the competitions currently online, is no exception. The upcoming National Swiss Teams provides the opportunity to play in a national field. There is still time to enter the Schapiro Spring Foursomes which always attracts a strong field. With regional events, and the EBED Spring Sim Pairs, there really is something for everyone - we hope there's something which takes your fancy.

Play in the National Swiss Teams

The National Swiss Teams will this year be played online on BBO. The competition consists of fourteen 7-board matches using instant Swiss assignments based on results of the matches that are just completed. Scoring is by traditional Match Points. Hosts, Teammates & Partners, are available, please contact Darren Evetts Entry@nationalswissteams.co.uk.

The Schapiro Spring Foursomes

The Schapiro Spring Foursomes will take place online this year, but the format will remain the same.  The Spring Fours is one of the great events in the English calendar. The principal event the Schapiro Trophy has become one of the toughest events in domestic bridge. It is run on double-elimination lines over nine sessions each of 32 boards.

The booking is going fast - we have now taken 40 entries so there are only a few places remaining! You can see the current entry list here. Don't delay adding your names to list soon.
