"BB 6E1 A 3NT opening may be used to show a solid minor"

Yesterday I had a pair who used 3 Spades for the same purpose.

Presumably this is part of a transfer-pre-empt system.

Should this be allowed?

    No. There is no principle where artificial meaning for one bid can be assigned to another bid - especially at level two where the emphasis is on familiarity.

    (A mathematician/logician might call this a Transfer Principle but I guess that is not a helpful term in this context.)
