Multi 2D - weak options

I am little confused as to the permitted point ranges for the weak options in a Multi 2D, and want to ensure my card is legal.

For level 4 does 7 C 1 (b) (iv) (1) apply:
"At least five cards in a suit, specified or not, which must not be the suit opened, and/or"

...meaning the weak majors could be any point range (and include other stronger ranges also), and either major (or indeed clubs if we really wanted, but not diamonds)?

if playing the the now mainly defunct level 3, 8 (c) 2 A applies:
"A defined range of no more than 5 HCP, a minimum strength of 4 HCP and a maximum of 12 HCP. The agreed strength may differ according to position and/or vulnerability."

....which constrains the point range to 5 and min HCP of 4. But such constraints do not apply at level 4?

Comments

  • No, they do not. At level 4, you can have any point range you want e.g. 0-3 or 7-10 (or both!). The only thing you can't do is include diamonds as one of the weak suits.
