Rovers

Is there a way of adding Rovers in EBUScore pairs or should we just change the movement to one more table with a half pair at that table?

Comments

  • The process should be, preferably before the move for round 2:
    1. go to the Movement page, increase the table number by 1, to N+1
    2. find the rover movement (for N+1/2 tables)
    3. adjust the parameters, so that the movement for round 1 is the same as what you are playing
    4. select the movement, retaining results where possible
    5. In the Bridgemate page, update the movement from round 2
    6. Issue instructions to the rover pair
    7. Tell the room there will be a rover and move for round 2
    8. Get everyone to check their pair numbers and names
    9. Enter names/EBU numbers for the rover pair
    10. (Adjust the pair numbers on the Enter Scores pages if it does all quite work)

  • Our club is very relaxed on late arrivals (we would cease to exist otherwise!) so we've created rover equivalents for all of our movements (which range from 20 to 22 boards) - if you (or anyone else) might find these useful then please feel free to get in touch!

I used Scorebridge for a brief period before getting access to EBUScore and this is one area in which Scorebridge is much easier to use (since you can add a rover automatically to any non-Mitchell movement). Obviously this would take a bit of time to put together but might be something worth adding.

  • Robin - I dont think you can currently 'Add Tables' in the BCS Update Movement, though it would be a simple update for Jonathan to allow that (Needs Section Table updating which currently isnt done). It was always assumed you would restart the movement with this type of change.

  • Rovers don't add a table which BCS needs to know about. The movement thinks there is an extra table, but a missing pair play there throughout and no scores are entered there.
