I have played many times on BBO, and we always do it in the same room.
-
Bridgemates always seem to get confused by a single player using their EBU number.
I go to Bridgemate Scoring and use Write Names. Sometimes I have to do it several times -

Thanks.
I was lucky because the pair I wanted to award 60% scored 65% overall. So I left it at that. -
If no one is at fault, Not Played always seems to be the fairest score to me. I reflects what might have happened if the board would have been played.
I regularly Direct in a session where I allow generous time for relatively new players. S… -
I don't normally use arrow switches. But in the hundreds of times I have played them I have never known a Director specify which way North and South play. It doesn't matter.
I have sometimes seen the moving pair swap seats for an arrow swit… -
I suppose you could have a disagreement with an arrow switch if both pairs want to be specific. I would allow the moving pair to change places.
Personaly, I'm not too bothered by what Pianola thinks. When I Direct I often switch between Eas… -
I always leave this up to individual pairs.
I can't see any reason why the Director should need to designate the positions. The laws say nothing about this. -
There are no problems with Mitchell movements. Just leave out the last round(s) or part rounds.
You have to be more careful with other movements, especially when the last round is arrow switched. You may have to leave out the penultimate ro… -
The trouble with alerting or announcing Doubles is that it has to be done immediately.
Often when my partner Doubles at the three level, I have to think. The next player generally passes or bids and I'm still thinking. I may take a minute o… -
West makes the decision. East has no right to influence the decision.
West has accepted the bid. -
I'm not confused.
It just looks like incompetence. Maybe not the fact that 2NT isn't announced - but the decision to announce it, then the change of mind next time. -
I've probably said this before. But, as someone who plays three or four times a week, generally as a Director, I see the Stop card used correctly about once a year.
Normally it's picked up immediately and there is no discernible wait for th… -
I can understand why many people see the Announcing and Alerting rules as fickle and incomprehensible and the 2NT situation just makes the EBU look incompetent.
First, we had announcing for 1NT, Stayman and transfers.
Then similar ann… -
The new Alerting and Announcing rules include reference to 'prepared, phoney, short or nebulous' 1C or 1D openings without a clear definition.

It's because the Alerting and Announcing rules cover everything.
Those players who keep to simple systems are expected to read and understand all the rules, in order to learn which ones apply.
Some will be put off by having… -

Will the EBU be issuing new rules for Alerting and Announcing?

7C1 looks interesting.

Thanks. I haven't added the White Book to my bedtime reading list yet.

OK. Where does your quote come from?

Thanks for replies.

It looks very complicated. In a session with two people playing with robots and a pair of robots instead of a sitout, the people with robots both have the same set of four numbers. Presumably only one of these figures will apply to the live playe…

2) I always stop to plan and consider the hand in third position after the opening lead, even when I have no chance of making a trick.
If Dummy has a singleton and plays it I wait for a long time for declarer to call it. -
There is so much to think about and remember when playing Bridge and signals tend to come at the end of the list.
When asked about signals I often say that I signal about 25% of the time and notice my partner's signal about 10% of the time.… -
Surely "detaching it" implies intent and does not include allowing it to become detached by accident.

I think I would need to know the full bidding sequence and exactly what was said at each stage before answering this.
