  • This can happen in large swiss pairs fields and as Steve advises, you can press the BACK key to get the right assignment. The critical action is that before you 'announce' that the assignment are on the BMs, you ensure the External Report is complet…
  • Good point.....another update for Jonathan in EBUScore1.2.2......the only problem being it may not be entirely backwards compatible (so retrieving an older event may not pick out the correct deal file)
  • Make sure the Table Top Unit (Top Left of Bridgemate Scoring) is set correctly. It should be sorted therafter. TabScore, BridgeTab, ArcScorer have been added at various times (in fact BridgeScorer was superseded by TabSxcore I think). If you have…
  • Ah yes - thats right, Robin! The NGS is only needed for Handicap or Stratify by NGS purposes. I thought that might be the main purpose of thebutton, but I guess you can omit that, so the Details would really be just about matching names to ebu numb…
  • There is history behind this and it is somewhat by design. If you are doing multisession or multisection events, or you are using the PC for a county event or special sim, it saves time using 'last scoring settings' but i agree that for a club tha…
  • All changes look fine to me!
  • its just an observation.......I am getting "Windows cannot access \scrollfile.htm" before I set a scrollfile.
  • Jonathan et al.... Michael Clark can probably elucidate further but 1.2.x uses API version 3 whereas 1.1.x used API version 2. In version 3, there is an authoristaion process on each access which may well be slowing it down. A lot depends also on …
  • I suppose we could change the updatemovement button to update the deal (it current;ly only does movement related changes) - but steves suggestion seems BCS (File>Impoprt) seems simplest and pain free for what will generally be a rare occurence.
  • Thank Ian....I have always found you helpful and cooperative on this development. Good Luck Jonathan!
  • Understood. You should go onto 1.2.x eventually as it has significant improvements, but I appreciate your reluctance until user feedback on preferred options from 1.1.10 have been incorporated!
  • Fair enough - I have sent a suggested mod to the EBU for starting the scroll screen and use your PC browser - or alternatively its a fairly simple update for IanM (or whoever) to put in the scrolling mechanism from 1.1.10 into 1.2.x fairly quickly…
  • I can confirm that it only receives scores when on Bridgemate Scoring screen. I know it sounds a crass/drastic suggestion, but maybe try on another PC/Laptop for a few weeks. It doesnt take long to set up and you can transfer your exising data files…
  • Steve - have you cheked the scroll values in Reports > Print properties? They were incorrectly interpreted in the 1.1 versions and the wrong values may have been carried forward to 1.2.1 as default
  • There was a fault in the pre 1.2.1 versions in the way the scroll parameters were being used. I suggest you check the values in Reports>Print Properties>Scrolling - and maybe play with them a little by changing them and testing on the Reports…
  • Thats by design - Why would you want to turn off that feature?
  • The option for Average (50%) rather than 100% Handicapping is on the Player Database > Player Management screen
  • Gordon asked me to comment on changes in the new EBUScore 1.2.1 version. This version has essentially been in beta test for a couple of years with a few trusted TD users. There have been numerous bug clearances and improvements under the hood over …
  • Unlike other games (golf being the obvious), there is no 'standard' as to how handicapping should be done, but the NGS system was designed in line with a Handicap value thus giving some weight to using the system used by EBUScore. The original NGS t…
  • I can recommend Mike's program specifically for handling 2 teams of 8, 12, 16 etc l.....but not any more than 2 teams
  • This bug affected both Swiss Pairs & Teams was in the Bridgemate Control Program and was reported to Ron Bouewland in March 2014 (who said the fix was tricky) since updating settings cancelled the 'Waiting for next round Assignment' mode effecti…
  • @gordonrainsford said: It's distinctly inferior, but I don't think it breaks any regulation. Why does the TD do this? Could this be in breach of awarding Materpoints Ref Handbook 4.1.4? "For a pairs event, this may be a ‘single winner’ move…
  • Great work, Paul. I think this is well worth publishing to make the clubs aware of the possibility. Can it be used for a single missing player (essentially removing Host systems maintained by many clubs) as well as being used for a missing pair? …

  • You can only run one session at a time with Bridgemates. However, you could have set a single session 8 round movement for the group of 5 with rounds 1-4 matches of 6 boards and then rounds 5-8 matches oif 4 boards. The program will treat as 4 x 10 …
  • There is currently nothing in the Usebio XML DTD to indicate a fouled board, If you just entered the scores, it would be misinterprested by decoding software and for NGS purposes as though it was a nonfouled board. Consequently, Ian Mitchell and mys…
  • The original question referred to the score uploaded for NGS based on XImps. I had discussed this recently with Robin when in a recent NBL Team of 8 match, a team had arrived late and missed 4 of 8 boards. We think NGS boards with no bridge result …
  • Use the Bavin Movements suitable for 13+ teams? Thirteen or more tables Four rounds of 2 boards are played with each partner. The movement gets fairly complicated later on, so the T.D. will need to take great care. Round 1 : E/W move up 3 table…
  • Good question! You could try this manually in BCS (though it wont take long). After launching BCS, use Tools > Database > Database Editor > Tables. The Sections will be numbered 1,2,3 in left column andaAll the Tables (right column) will …
  • You need to check with Stephen Bligh, but the change in 2012 meant that BCS looked for a Tables.Group value and combined accrodingly. I dont know if SB plants that table value and if the value was planted but left as zero, whence all sections would …
  • Presumably same for Butler Scoring?
