Thanks to both of you, but even if I had not suggested the pass, could West pass? Both your replies are great, it is probably obvious that I am recently new at directing and still run Gordon's videos before a session.

At my club there is a recorded message which tells us when to move, when to skip and when it is tea break. Also it says " if dummy is not on the table, do not play this round". It kind of contradicts the time period, as most of you are saying…

thanks, I trust you will find something for me - any help will be appreciated

Thanks Gordon. 2 Td's claimed that if the offender made a comparable bid then his partner could continue to bid.
as always you are most helpful

Thanks CMOT and Peter. both responses were helpful

what about a completely different bid that prevents partner from bidding again? this is rarely considered

2 penalty cards. may declarer choose which one to request opponents partner to play first? plus may declarer forbid/insist on the suit and if he does, are both penalty cards returned to hand?

Thanks Gordon. The td gave up on going through the cards as he was also playing. Was I incorrect though to suggest a revoke of one trick to the non offending side?

Sorry I meant RHO spoke. also could she not be reprimanded for telling her partner what to do?

There is an online game run by a Netherlands group, translates to stepbridge. They have a button to change bid, the director is called and makes the decision.

Law 55A & B applies to declarer mid game.

Law 55A - at some clubs, that I have played at, the directors state that declarer's lead out of turn from their hand may be picked up as they are declarer. When challenged they say it's opening lead out of turn?

A person keeps their Pass cards loose, face up, on the table and has done so for years without a complaint. Opponents can insist that they have to be played prior to any bids can be played from the bidding box?

I think we all have the same problem. Any more tips?

playing directors do not always have time to check in the law book when they have to refer to subsequent laws with all 4 players making comments to their own advantage, a big distraction for the director, however I should have taken extra time &…

something similar happened to me - I was declarer and part way through the game. my LHO played a card before me, it was my turn and I was declarer. I pointed out that it was my turn and my LHO said oh! sorry. director ruled that I just play my…

Forgive my ignorance but according to L27B1/2, if the 2NT is accepted then the offender's partner may make a bid, so why is everyone saying that their partner must pass?
