New Gender Neutral version of the Laws of Duplicate Bridge

The World Bridge Federation Executive Council has announced a gender neutral "translation" of the laws of Duplicate Bridge. This work was championed by EBU Tournament Director Nicole Barclay and then proposed by Chairman of the Laws Committee, Ton Kooijman at the Executive Council in Wuhan, September 2019. The new documents have now been approved and are available to download on the WBF website.

Ten TDs receive promotions

Congratulations to the ten Tournament Directors who achieved a promotion to the level of County TD at the recent County Directors weekend. The successful TDs were:

Mark Westley Martin Oates
Megan Jones * Peter Bushby *
John Oakland Patricia Hones *

* - passed with distinction

Megan is the 2nd youngest person ever to become an EBU County TD and the youngest ever to receive a distinction.

European Bridge League TD promotion

Congratulations to Ian Mitchell, EBU staff member and secretary of the EBU Laws and Ethics Committee, who at the Tournament Director course of the European Bridge League in Antalya on 5th - 10th Feb, came 4th out of 60 in the overall assessment and was promoted to become an EBL Tournament Director.
