+====== System Cards ======

 +This part of My EBU allows for partners to upload system cards for storing and sharing with others.
 +Some competitions may require system cards for playing.
 +A system card lists conventions and agreements that a partnership uses. System cards are also known as convention cards.

 +
 +===== Creating a system card =====
 +
 +If you already have a system card and it is in the PDF format, then you can skip to the next section. Otherwise you will need to create a system card for your partnership.
 +
 +Visit this page to learn more about how to create a system card. After creating the system card, you will then need to make sure it is in the PDF format.
 +
 +  - If the file already ends in .pdf then you are good to go.
 +  - If the file is a word doc, then you can create a PDF from it by doing "save as" and changing the extension to .pdf - for more help see Microsoft's guide.
 +  - If you have printed out a system card, then you will need to scan it to convert it into a PDF. Some printers also let you scan files. If you own a smartphone with a camera, there will be apps that let you take photos and turn these into PDFs. For more general help see the guide on wikihow.
 +  - If the file is a pages file on a Mac, then you can follow the instructions in this  article.
 +
 +===== Uploading the system card to My EBU =====
 +

 +  - Go to the system cards page (in the utilities menu)
 +  - Click "Add System Card (PDF)" at the bottom
 +  - Enter the name of the system card - this should be a brief description of the system card and currently will only be shown to you and your partner, but this may change in the future.

 +  - Click upload and wait for the system card to be uploaded to My EBU.
 +  - If you see any errors then please try again or check troubleshooting
 +  - If it was successful, then you will see the system card appear in My EBU. Please check that the file loaded correctly, by clicking on it's name. If you are unhappy with it, you can click the delete button to remove it.
 +
 +===== Sharing and Viewing =====
 +
 +The partner you specified when uploading the system card will be able to see it in My EBU. You will see a row that looks like the below for each system card.
 +
 +You can click on the system card's name to open it in a new tab (Some browsers may download it instead). You can click on the download link to download the PDF file, and you can click the copy link button to copy a shareable link of your system card that can be sent to others (e.g. partnerships that you are playing against or tournament organisers).
 +
 +===== Troubleshooting =====
 +
 +During the system card upload process, here is a list of things that might go wrong. If you have an issue where this list does not help you may want to report an issue.
 +  - Can't get past the first upload page: After clicking "next", there should be a message saying what went wrong, you should fix this and click next again. For example it may be that your partner's EBU number and surname don't match - in which case you should confirm these details with them or try again.
 +  - Next button is greyed out for a long period of time: Click cancel and then try again later
 +  - Error wrong file type. The file must be a valid pdf: Check that your file is a PDF file and that it can be opened by PDF viewing software such as Adobe Acrobat.
 +  - Error File size too big: Try using a website such as Smallpdf to reduce the file size, there will also be many other programs that compress PDFs. Currently our limit is 5Mb. If the file size is still too large, you may need to make the PDF again.
 +  - Any other error: It's always wise to try again, perhaps with a different browser. Your partner can also upload system cards for you.
 +
 +===== Privacy =====
 +
 +Please be aware that when uploading a system card, anyone will be able to see this system card and any data (or metadata) associated with the pdf. They will also be able to see you and your partner's surname. Currently the name of the system card (as filled out in the system card name field when going through the upload process) is only visible to your and your partner, however this is likely to change in the future. System cards can be deleted, which will remove the PDF file from the EBU's server, but we will keep a record of when the system card was deleted.
