A new model club constitution has been developed and is now available on the ‘Official Documents’ page of the EBU web site. The constitution addresses disciplinary matters, which will assist clubs when dealing with such issues, and incorporates parts of other constitutions that have achieved charity status. It has been developed with club needs in mind. Do have a look at it and consider asking your club to adopt it. There has been a growth in disputes ending up at the EBU by virtue of the failure of the Clubs either to have proper disciplinary procedures in place or if they have them, failing to follow them. Clubs should protect themselves by having effective procedures which might avoid matters getting out of hand.
