This competition gives your club's pairs a chance to compete at local, regional and national levels. All EBU-affiliated clubs can hold heats of the National Pairs Competition at any time between October and Mid-February. Blue points are awarded to the pairs coming in the top third at the club heat. These pairs also qualify for the Regional Finals, usually held in March at a number of venues around the country.
From the Regional Finals the top 100 pairs qualify for the National Finals on a weekend in April. The "A" Final is open to the top 50 of the Regional qualifiers. The "B" Final is open to the next 50.
Green points are awarded at the Regional and National finals.
If you are a club that held a club heat that was National Pairs only last year then thank you as this is what we are aiming for.
If you held a session that was part National Pairs and part non entrants would you consider making this National Pairs only as the table money is now only £1 per player and the more we can encourage to take part the better.
If you did not hold a heat please think about doing so, at any time you like from October to mid February.
