Club Management Focus: Spring 2018

Welcome to the Spring edition of Club Management Focus.

Whilst to some of us the appearance of bluebells in the woods heralds the start of long hours spent in the garden, to others it means the start of the Cafe Bridge season. If you haven’t already participated in a Cafe Bridge event, I urge you to do so. I have successfully introduced reluctant social bridge players (including my husband!) to the joys of the duplicate game this way. Cafe Bridge is an excellent addition to a club’s social calendar whilst raising the club’s profile locally and raising money for a good cause to boot. I hope that all clubs will by now have completed the process of ensuring they comply with the new General Data Protection Regulation which comes into force on 25th May. If not, please do address this issue immediately. There is a wealth of explanatory and helpful information on the EBU website to assist all clubs with the process of implementing the new regime. On the plus side, we will of course all benefit from the reduction in unwanted emails although I am pleased to confirm you will still be receiving emails from the EBU!
