The fundraising which is supporting the junior teams’ participation in the World Youth Team Championships in China in August is going well. At the time of writing we are well beyond the halfway mark as we head towards the primary target of £60,000. You can see updates on the fundraising at https://www.ebu.co.uk/sponsorWYB2018.
We are very grateful to everyone who has made a donation, and also to those who have coordinated fundraising activities. If you, or your club, has been involved then thank you very much indeed. It has been excellent to see the level of support which the junior players have received from the membership, and the players themselves have been touched by it and it has given them additional motivation.
The teams have been selected, and all are getting excited about the forthcoming Championships. Preparations are going well, whether at organized training weekends, or in other competitions – most recently five of the squad were amongst the winners at the National Swiss Teams Congress.
There is still time to be involved – and whilst it would be nice to have hit the target before the teams fly to China we are happy to accept donations once they have returned. No matter how big the donation, all contributions are gratefully received.
