The weekend of the 5th to 7th April 2019 saw the Really Easy Weekend take place in Wroxton. Here Christine MacFarlane recounts the event:
We had 8 tables playing at the Wroxton Really Easy weekend this year. Our brave novice players tackled Pairs, Teams and Swiss Pairs events; many of them had only played Pairs previously. We had 12 congress ‘first timers’ but they all coped really well and the more experienced players were supportive and understanding.
The card room was normally used for weddings so romantically decorated – looking out onto the courtyard and gardens. It was a great playing environment for nervous novices.
The hotel and restaurant staff were wonderful. The food was delicious and served speedily so that maximum time could be spent playing bridge. We look forward to returning next year 3rd to 5th April 2020.
