Club Committee News
by Graham Jepson

The work of the Interim National Club Committee set up in 2008 is just about complete and, on behalf of all the EBU Membership and the Board of Directors, I would like to thank these volunteers for aiding the passage of the EBU into Universal Membership through P2P. A new elected National Club Committee will take up its work towards the end of this year.

Does your club have a volunteer who might like to act as a County Club Representative? If so, please let your County Secretary know a.s.a.p. to help the County elect a club volunteer to serve on the soon-to-be-appointed Regional Club Committees, certainly by July 2011. The post involves liaising between Clubs, Counties, Regional and National Committees as well as providing suggestions in matters affecting clubs.

The EBU has recently completed a survey of its members, and the results will be published in English Bridge. The lack of new members responding is a disappointment, so the task of getting views from our new club members will fall on the national club committee.

Finally, we hope that clubs have found P2P and Universal Membership not too stressful and we offer a welcome back to any clubs who disaffiliated. The process and procedures are not that difficult, and the advantages of EBU membership to the club and its members make affiliation well worth while. If you know of any other clubs in your area who might be interested in joining or re-joining the EBU, please put them in touch with our Club Liaison Officer Krys K on 01296-317206 or krys@ebu.co.uk

Krys is also available for general help and advice to clubs, as indeed are the Regional Representatives from the National Club Committee. Their contact details can be found at:
