England Juniors third in Finland

The England Juniors have come third in the junior international event at the Midsummer Bridge Tournament in Salo, Finland, this weekend.

The team of a Rob Myers, Shivam Shah, James Paul and Alex Roberts finished behind the Hungarian and Estonian Under 25 teams. They won five of their nine matches, including victory over the champion Hungarian team in the final match to take the bronze.

In the open teams which followed they finished 7th of the 31 teams, and were the third highest junior team. In the open pairs which concluded the event, Alex & James were 11th, and Shivam & Rob were 15th, out of 54 pairs.

Particular mention should go to Rob, who was co-winner of the award for 'Best Played Hand' at the event, sharing the prize with Jun Nakamaru-Pinder from Scotland. You can read about the hand on page 5 of the report below.
