Alex Hydes

Alex was born in 1980, and is originally from Barnsley, but now lives in London. He learnt to play bridge at a young age, and was a successful junior player, representing England in a number of events at Under 20 and Under 25 level, including the European Championships on four occasions, winning bronze medal with the Under 20s in 1996. He also won the Portland Bowl three times - twice with Oxford University and once with London - and played in the World and European University Championships.

His successes include victories in the 2006 2015 and 2016 Crockfords Cup, the 2014 Two Star Pairs at the Autumn Congress, the 2015 Premier League, the Easter Pairs three times and three events at the 2014 Summer Meeting. He was also part of the winning team in the 2014 Pakistan Day International Bridge Championship. He was a member of the successful 2016 Camrose team, and represented England in the Mixed Team at the 2016 World Bridge Games.
