Board and committee positions filled at AGM

The Annual General Meeting of the English Bridge Union took place yesterday (Wednesday November 26th) in London. Andrew Petrie has stepped down from the board after serving as both Vice Chairman and, most recently, as Treasurer. The shareholders joined Chairman Jeremy Dhondy in thanking Andrew for his many years of service.

The election results were announced as follows:-

Board
Four positions were vacant, and four candidates were nominated and agreed to stand. As such, there was no need for an election. Each nominee will serving a three year term of office expiring in 2018.

Jerry Cope

Anthony Golding
Ron Millet

Officers
Jeremy Dhondy was nominated for the position of Chairman, and Jerry Cope was nominated for the position of Treasurer. There were no other nominations so they were elected.

Ian Payn will continue in the position of Vice Chairman

Laws & Ethics Committee
Two nominations were received for the two vacancies therefore no election was required. Each nominee will serving a three year term of office expiring in 2018.

Richard Fleet (newly elected)

Selection Committee
Two nominations were received for the two vacancies therefore no election was required. Each nominee will serving a three year term of office expiring in 2018.

David Burn (re-elected)
Peter Hasenson (newly elected)

Tournament Committee
There were two vacancies but no nominations were received.
