Top ten finishes for English pairs at World Bridge Games

The World Bridge Games in Poland have concluded, with two English pairs finishing in the top ten of their respective Pairs events.

Paul Hackett & John Holland finished in ninth place in the Seniors Pairs and Nevena Senior & Fiona Brown in tenth place in the Women's Pairs.

Andrew McIntosh & Phil King, who qualified in second place for the Open Pairs final, finished in 21st; Susanna Gross & Alex Hydes who qualified in third place for the Mixed Pairs final finished in 15th.

In the Teams competitions, two gold medals were won by the Netherlands, and two by the USA. Unfortunately the Scottish Women were defeated in the bronze medal match. England's teams only progressed as far as the quarter final stages.
