Clive Owen (North East) & John Holland (Manchester) have won the Great Northern Swiss Pairs with a score of 180 VPs from their twelve matches. This was the third time they have each won the competition, and the second time as a partnership.
Clive & John lost only once across the weekend, and finished 15 VPs ahead of Robin Jepson & Alan Brosgill (both Yorkshire). David Debbage (Staffs & Shrops) & Viv Wood were third with 161 VPs.
The Improvers competition was won by Joan Eager & Brian Eager (both Yorkshire). They scored 68 VPs from five matches, with Lindsey Wharmby & Caroline Moseley (both Yorkshire) in second on 60 VPs. There was a tie for third on 58 VPs between Katherine Libbert & Jon Crook (both Yorkshire), and Neil Macdonald & Lorraine Macdonald (both Yorkshire).
