India wins Commonwealth Nations Bridge Competition

India has won the 5th Commonwealth Nations Bridge Competition in Australia, beating a team from the host nation in the final.

England A (Steve Eginton, Bill Hirst, Gary Hyett, Chris Duckworth, Brian Callaghan) lost in the quarterfinals, and England B (Frances Hinden, Graham Osborne, David Burn, Kieran Dyke) narrowly missed qualification for the knockout stages. Scotland, and the Presidents team, both of which included EBU members (Victor Silverstone & Gerald Haase, and Roger O'Shea, Derek Patterson, Jason Hackett, Justin Hackett & Paul Hackett, respectively) were losing semi-finalists.

The competition featured 36 teams, from 12 Commonwealth nations, including Wales, Guernsey and the Isle of Man
