The EBU is sad to learn of the death of Martin Hoffman. Martin was a hugely popular player, and was considered for a time to be the best pairs player in the world. He enjoyed a long string of successes, both in the UK and abroad, spanning half a century. Amongst other victories he won the Spring Foursomes twice - for the first time in 1969 - and Harold Poster Cup at Brighton three times - most recently in 2011.
