Littlewoods, & Dhondy team, win at Summer Seniors

The Summer Seniors Congress has made its traditional trip to Eastbourne, with the Littlewoods and the Dhondy team picking up the main prizes.

Paul & Fiona Littlewood (pictured) were winners of the Championship Pairs, finishing with 58.69%. They were exactly 2% ahead of Kathy & Denis Talbot, with Celia & Derek Oram in third with 56.36%.

The B Final was won by Gary Hyett & Alan Cooke, with Brian Crack & Shirley Goldwin in second, and Andrew Parkes & Richard Samter in third.

The Swiss Pairs - for non-qualifiers in the Championship Pairs, and those joining the Congress on day two - was won emphatically by Joan Peel & Geoffrey Peel. They were undefeated in their seven matches finishing with 124 VPs. Nigel Wolfendale & Dick Davey were second on 101 VPs, and Lorne Anderson & Warner Solomon were third with 99 VPs.

The Swiss Teams competition was a little closer, though the winners - Jeremy Dhondy, Bill Hirst, Peter Law & Clive Cubitt (pictured here) - were also undefeated. They finished 9 VPs ahead of Gary Hyett, Alan Cooke, John Jones & Adrian Fontes, with the Davey team in third a further 2 VPs back.
