Owen & Senior win Two Star Pairs

The Two Star Pairs, the main competition at the Autumn Congress, has been won by Clive Owen & Brian Senior (pictured). They were highest scorers in the qualifying round, and carried this form in to the final where they went on to win by nearly 3%. Richard Creamer & Trevor Mathews were second, and Justin Hackett & Martin Taylor were third.

The Two Star Pairs was the second competition in the 2018/19 Player of the Year Championship, and Clive and Brian are new entries at 11th in the standings.

The Satellite Pairs (the 'B' final) was narrowly won by Gill Stock & Shahzaad Natt (see picture here), who were just 0.11% ahead of Andrew McIntosh & Alex Hydes.

The Swiss Pairs - for non-qualifiers, and those joining the congress after the qualifying rounds - was won by Michael Rawlins & Naomi Gibbs (see picture here), with Roman Gembicki & Bogdan Drobny in second.

The Congress continued with a multiple teams event, with a qualifying round, followed by three finals. The 'A final', for the Eastbourne Bowl, was won by Rob Lawy, Andrew Thompson, Warner Solomon & Lorne Anderson (see picture here), with Filip Kurbalija, Diane Kurbalija, David Kendrick & Jeremy Dhondy in second, and the 2017 winners, the Black team, in third.

The Burlington Cup (the secondary final) was won by Celia Oram, Derek Oram, Dee Lindon & Peter Lindon (see picture here), and the Sussex Cup (the consolation final) was won by David Gold, Catherine Seale, Tom Paske & Bjorn Tiller (see picture here)
