Dawn Mertens retires from the EBU today, having been on the staff for nearly twenty years. Aside from her work in the Competitions Department, where many members will have spoken to her on the phone when entering events, she has also been the secretary to the Selection Committee and to the Tournament Directors Development Group.
Although she plans to spend more time with her partner Bill on their narrow boat, regular attendees of our Really Easy Weekends will be glad to know she will still be involved with running them.
We wish her all the best, and will miss her quiet efficiency in the office. Her place on the staff has been taken by Jake Cope, who joined us a few weeks ago.
