October's competition for our online games, hosted by Funbridge, has concluded.
In the main October matchpoints ladder, Andrew Eastwood finished top of the leader board. His best six scores in the month averaged 66.38%, and he wins £30. There were also cash prizes for second to fifth places.
In the handicap ladder, for the players whose scores exceed their NGS by the greatest amount, the top spot was shared equally between Bryan Smith and Paul Hawkins who both ended the month with a handicap score of 7.66, winning £7.50 each.
Starting this weekend, and continuing throughout November, there will be two extra 12-board games taking place each weekend. This weekend the games will be in match-points. From next weekend there will be one 12-board game with IMPs and one 12-board game with match-points.
You may have noticed that from 1st November, Funbridge introduced a virtual currency which allows players to participate in federation tournaments on Funbridge. You can purchase the currency on the Funbridge website or via in-app purchases on iOS or Android and then use this currency to pay for registration fees of federation tournaments.
