The 50th EBU Summer Meeting will take place at Eastbourne's Winter Garden from 19th - 28th August 2016.

The schedule will be very similar to the present schedule, but will be confirmed in early 2016.
The decision to move from Brighton to Eastbourne was taken in response to the survey of EBU members who participate in tournaments. The responses identified the high cost of accommodation and parking in Brighton as factors in players' decisions not to attend the congress, but they cited a desire for the event to remain in a 'holiday resort'.
Eastbourne was identified as a location which would satisfy these requirements, with parking available at only £2 a day, and equivalent hotels often costing up to 50% less than in Brighton. Eastbourne is also "the sunniest place in England", and offers numerous attractions for making the most of the British summer.
The operating costs of the congress will also be lower in Eastbourne, and this will be reflected in a proposed 10% reduction in the entry fees for 2016. In addition, those playing in the full congress in 2016 will receive a £50 discount on the cost of entering the full 2016 Summer Meeting. Eligible participants will be notified in early 2016.
