Eddie's Caption Competition. TD Eddie Williams has chosen a winner for his caption competition. The winner was Paul Brayshaw of Plymouth with his suggestion, "And that, ladies and gentlemen, was 'wielding the axe'! I now need a volunteer for the 'entry-shifting squeeze'".

Honourable mentions go to "I said cut for partners, not cut my partner" from Tony Ratcliff; "She asked me to cut to see who would sit North" from David Bygott; "That's not how we double round here..." and "Share and relay refers to the boards....", both from Meena Samani. Well done, and thank you to you all for your suggestions.

AUG‑12, 16:14 John Williams asked us to pass on his feedback on the timings of the Swiss Pairs over the weekend. In response to feedback the timings had been adjusted to allow for easier access to public transport at the end of the evening. John was pleased to report that the event ran to schedule and he finished in time to catch the penultimate bus from the city centre to the park-and-ride. Even had he played a little slower in the final round he would have been in plenty of time for the final bus. He wished to make it known to those coming in future that using public transport, and/or staying outside the centre of Brighton, is very much an option, and he gave his thanks to the TDs for the revised schedule.
