Below is your monthly update from the EBU. All previous updates are available on the EBU Updates page.
This poster shows the upcoming EBU events. Please consider adding this to your club/county website and encourage your members to enter online via My EBU.
EBU Board
The Board have continued with their Commitments for 2025, further details will be shared in due course.
Following the approval of the changes of the Articles of Association at the AGM in November, the Board have made progress with updating the structure of the Committees. We now have a new Regulations Committee, Conduct Committee, Selection Committee and Junior Council. Have a look on the website at the new committee members. If you have any queries do please raise these with the Committee Secretary.
The Juniors very much enjoyed the recent Channel Trophy, (further details and photos). And they are shortly off to play in the Junior Camrose and Peggy Bayer. We wish them all good luck! The new Junior Council will be working closely with the Junior Squads and Junior Squad Leaders to provide a clear pathway for their bridge journey.
One of the new Board initiatives is to revamp the Clubroom to classroom journey with a series of videos that clubs can use to help their members. We will invite all club officers to a preview of the first video in the next couple of weeks.
As a reminder, EBU affiliated clubs receive a free course placement every two years. Has your club used theirs? If you are not sure if you have used your place recently please contact jonathan@ebu.co.uk. The club teacher training timetable for 2025 is now available, see below for further details.
Club Membership Fees 2025/26
The counties have now finalised their county membership fees for the 2025/26 year, see the full membership fee list for EBU and Counites.
Please note, the Clubs Terms of Affiliation have been updated for the 2025/26 year.
Club Members' Details
As a reminder for clubs, please let us know when a member is deceased by emailing Amanda@ebu.co.uk. We need to know so we can close their records and to prevent us sending emails to their spouses/families causing upset.
Club and County Directory Details
In addition to your members' details, please check your club details in the Club Directory and submit our online club details form if any changes are needed. Please log in to check ALL your clubs details are still correct. More information is available via the help link on the club directory page.
Counties, please also check your county officials' details online, county details form.
New Club Member Records
As a reminder, when creating records for new member, if you have entered the details more than once and then revoke the record, this doesn’t remove the record from the EBU database. This can lead to duplicate records or emails being sent to members incorrectly notifying them that the club have removed them as a member. To avoid confusion, please double check details when inputting new members and contact Amanda via phone (01296 317200) or email (amanda@ebu.co.uk) if you are unsure if a member already has a record.
Diary "Opt In" - Check with New Members
Please check with any new club members that they are aware of the EBU diary and that they will need to "opt in" to receive their copy in September. Members can do this by either logging in to My EBU or calling us on 01296 317200.
