Appendix Worger 17T

County Pairs final was to be 17 tables and I like to play web mitchell (13x2) in session 1, and combined mitchells (9x3) in session 2.

But there are now 33 pairs, and I am going to play 2-board rounds throughout. I am about to write an interwoven howells movement, which I understand. But EBUScore has a two session movement "Appendix Worger 13 x 2-board rounds". It seems to have the same pairs sitting in each session, with some switching in session two, and needs board sharing between some pairs of tables (but I have two sets of boards). I presume it is better balanced than some ad hoc solution.
Has anyone any experience of "Appendix Worger" movements?

  • McKinnon mentions them. Seems to be an ingenious way to pair up a double howell and an interwoven howell, same groups playing in each session. An incomplete movement of course, but it will be with those numbers. So long as pairs aren't playing each other twice it's probably a good option.
